Koyeb is Joining Mistral AI to Build the Future of AI Infrastructure

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Koyeb has entered into a definitive agreement to join Mistral AI to advance cutting-edge AI infrastructure.

Koyeb will bring its platform, technology, and team to accelerate Mistral Compute offering. Compute is designed to provide leading teams across the globe the same state-of-the-art infrastructure Mistral AI uses to build, run, and scale frontier models and AI software.

Serverless, Inference, and Agents

In 2021, we set out to build the next-generation of cloud infrastructure, with a seamless serverless experience backed by high-performance hardware, deployable worldwide in seconds. After 10 years building and operating large-scale cloud platforms with Edouard and Bastien, we saw traditional CPU infrastructure getting commoditized while advanced, scalable, high-performance platforms remained complex and expensive to operate.

The rise of generative AI and agentic workloads redefined cloud infrastructure with a dramatic increase in scale and a set of new requirements: we provide serverless GPUs, specialized accelerators, and CPU workloads with capabilities to increase efficiency, enable new use-cases and control costs, from sub-second scale-to-zero and autoscaling to sandboxes for agents.

Today, Koyeb operates a purpose-built serverless platform for teams to run AI applications, from APIs and agents on CPU to high-performance inference on GPUs, with no ops, servers, or infrastructure management.

From day one, we’ve stayed close to the hardware to provide high-performance with sustainable costs. We’re operating tens of thousands of applications on top of bare metal servers across 10 locations worldwide.

Why join Mistral AI

When we first met the Mistral AI team and heard about their vision for Mistral Compute, we saw an incredible opportunity to accelerate the buildup of AI Infrastructure in Europe. Mistral AI deploys 40 MW of data center capacity and 18,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs as a starting point and is expanding with a $1.4B datacenter investment in Sweden.

Mistral AI is not any company, it’s an incredibly fast venture, building frontier AI, running it in enterprises, and scaling it to be accessible by everyone. They are now doing the same for AI Infrastructure.

When we started chatting with Tim, Mistral AI’s Co-Founder and CTO, we quickly understood that we shared the same mission of building world-class infrastructure for AI.

As part of Mistral AI, we will pursue our mission and build state-of-the-art AI infrastructure accessible to everyone.

What this means for our customers and for Koyeb

The Koyeb platform will continue operating. In the coming months, we’re expecting to transition to become a core component of Mistral Compute and will double down on our Inference, Sandboxes and serverless capabilities for MCP Servers.

As we join Mistral AI and prepare for this transition, we're going to focus on customers on the Pro plan and above. New users will only be able to sign up for those plans. If you have an existing organization on an existing plan, nothing will change for you. Sustaining a free tier is operationally intensive, and we're going to focus on building performant, and reliable world-class AI infrastructure.

We remain the serverless platform for deploying production-grade, AI-intensive applications on high-performance infrastructure.

Completion of the Koyeb acquisition by Mistral AI is subject to closing conditions.

  Yes, the entire Koyeb team is joining Mistral AI and will be fully dedicated to working on Mistral Compute.

• Can I sign up today?

  Yes, you can sign up and deploy on Koyeb the same way you always have. You'll need a valid payment method and must subscribe to one of our paid plans to get started.

• Is Koyeb going to continue operating?

  Yes, Koyeb will continue to operate without disruption and will gradually transition to become a core part of Mistral Compute.

• Can I still use the same channels to contact Koyeb support?

  Yes, you can continue to reach us through the same support channels you use today. The community forum, as well as the in-app chat, are the best ways to contact us.

• Will any of my data be transferred to Mistral AI?

  Not immediately. If anything changes in the future, we’ll make sure to clearly communicate it.

• Do I need a Mistral AI account to use Koyeb?

  No. You can continue using Koyeb exactly as you do today. If anything changes in that direction in the future, we'll clearly communicate it.

• Will I be billed by Mistral AI now?

  Koyeb will continue to bill users directly through our existing billing system. If anything changes in the future, we'll let you know.

• Does anything change for Pro, Scale, or Enterprise plans?

  No. If you’re on the Pro, Scale, or Enterprise plan, nothing changes.

• What’s changing with the Starter plan?

  The Starter plan will soon be removed and new users will instead need to subscribe to the Pro, Scale, or Enterprise plan. As we join Mistral AI and prepare for this transition, we're going to focus on customers on the Pro plan and above.
